Founded in 2019, we have been dedicated to serving our community through a blend of education, social support, and arts & entertainment.As a non-profit organisation, our work is driven by the needs of the people we serve. •In-Person Sessions: One face-to-face class per month on Saturday afternoons (time TBC) Plus live Online Classes: Weekly interactive Zoom sessions . Students can attend online only if they prefer.•Personal 1-2-1 Tuition: Every student receives dedicated one-to-one time with Shaykh Abdoulaye Sawadogo to have their recitation personally corrected and improved based on the rules of Tajweed.•Segregated Reading for Sisters: Sisters can participate in sisters-only reading sessions, both online and in-person, with the same teacher (Shaykh Abdoulaye) via screened partition or audio/video link. •Volunteer Support: Friendly male or female volunteers will be on-hand to support students and help deliver the course smoothly.•Group Learning: The remainder of each session is spent reading collectively and listening to the teacher's recitation and corrections to improve fluency and application.

Familiar with simple Tajweed rules.Focus: Refine application of rules, correct common mistakes, and increase fluency.Both levels begin together. Shaykh Abdoulaye Sawadogo personalizes instruction for each student's needs within the same sessions, allowing beginners to build foundations while intermediate learners advance their skills—all under one blessed circle of learning.
Your Instructor: Shaykh Abdoulaye Sawadogo
Shaykh Abdoulaye Sawadogo is one of the foremost reciters of the Glorious Qur'an in the West, widely acclaimed for his impeccable articulation. He began his Islamic studies in his native Burkina Faso at age 8, before travelling to Tunisia to complete his memorisation of the Noble Qur'an.He spent over five intensive years in Syria, sitting at the feet of some of Damascus's foremost scholars. There, he received ijaza and a direct chain of transmission back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in all ten styles of Qur'anic recitation Qira'at. Since moving to the UK in 2012, Shaykh Abdoulaye has been dedicated to disseminating this sacred knowledge.He is currently an Imam and teacher at Madni Masjid in
Halifax.

Your Personal 1-2-1 Tuition Session
This course is built around one central promise: every student will receive direct, individual correction from Shaykh Abdoulaye.Here is how it works:
1.Group Teaching (All Students): The Shaykh introduces new concepts, demonstrates correct recitation, and explains Tajweed rules. Sisters may attend the main session or join a separate sisters-only stream for this portion.2.Individual Rotation (One-to-One):During the session, each student takes a turn to recite directly to Shaykh Abdoulaye.3.Personal Correction Based on Tajweed Rules: The Shaykh listens carefully, identifies specific errors related to:Makharij (Points of articulation)
Sifaat (Characteristics of letters)
Ahkam (Rules such as Noon Sakinah, Meem Sakinah, Madd, etc.) Waqf (Rules of stopping)
He then gives you clear, actionable feedback to improve your recitation.4.Volunteer Support: While waiting for your turn, male and female volunteers are available to help with practice, answer questions, and ensure everything runs smoothly.5.Group Practice: While one student receives individual tuition, others continue reading, reviewing, or listening—benefiting from hearing corrections given to their fellow students.Why this matters:✅ You are not just watching videos – you are actively learning with personal feedback.

We understand that many sisters prefer to learn in a female-only environmentTherefore, we offer:
For In-Person Classes•A separate sisters' session with female volunteers on-hand.•Female volunteers assist with any technical or learning support needed.For Online Classes
•A separate sisters-only Zoom breakout room with female moderators.•Sisters can read and practice together in a comfortable environment.•Sisters online sessions with are scheduled, with video optional if preferred.This ensures that all sisters can benefit fully from the course while maintaining their personal preferences for learning.

Course Structure & Syllabus
The course runs for 25 weeks, with a mix of in-person and online sessions on Saturday afternoons (time TBC) . Both Beginners and Intermediate levels start together.Beginners Pathway
Focus: Mastering the alphabet, articulation points, and basic reading.
•Complete a structured Qur'anic Qa'idah.
•Learn the etiquettes of recitation.
•Practice reading short surahs from Juz 'Amma.
•During your 1-2-1 slot, receive correction on:
oCorrect pronunciation of each letter (Makhraj) Basic Sifaat (characteristics) Fluency in joining letters and words.Intermediate Pathway
Focus: Applying Tajweed rules fluently and refining recitation.
•Deepen understanding of core Tajweed rules.
•Read and correct selected passages from the Qur'an.
